Boondall Amateur Swimming Club

The Boondall Barracudas Swimming Club meets every Friday at the school pool during the swim club season, which begins in Term 4 and continues in Term 1 of the following school year.  Club nights are non-competitive, with swimming times recorded each week and children striving to beat their own times.  Each Friday night, all swimmers will swim 3 strokes and an individual medley (those who qualify).

Our junior swimmers are assisted in the pool by our senior swimmers to encourage them and ensure their safety.
We also hold a Sprint Championship at the end of the first half of the season, and a Club Championship at the end of the season.  Points from both of these Championship events goes towards Age Champions at Trophy Night.  All swim club kids are winners because they learn that striving to improve at anything not only brings results – it feels brilliant!
The Barracudas are QSA/BSA affiliated.  What does that mean?  It means that affiliation offers a pathway to compete at QSA/BSA sanctioned meets.
In order for the night to run smoothly, it requires swimmers to listen for their name/event and sit quietly while waiting for their swim, and parents to volunteer up front to help with timekeeping, canteen, or anything else that is required.
