Welcome Print

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the Boondall State School website.

Boondall State School is located in Roscommon Road, Boondall, just 14km from the GPO, Brisbane.

Our school has a strong culture of encouraging acceptance and appreciation of diversity and learning in a multicultural environment. Students at our school come from a wide variety of backgrounds including newly arrived non-English speaking language groups.

Our purpose is to achieve the best educational outcomes for every student. Academically, the student population has a broad spectrum of achievement with students consistently attaining strong results in standardised tests, academic competitions and other awards.

A comprehensive curriculum is offered in all academic subject areas including Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) - where students have Internet and email at their fingertips - and German LOTE.

Every student should have academic success as their major goal but it is also encouraged to succeed in at least one other area; for example, interschool sport - cricket, soccer, netball, tee ball and hockey (Years 5, 6, 7); interhouse and interschool swimming and athletics; instrumental music (Years 5, 6, 7); choir, chess, Environment Club and Student Council. Furthermore, there are a number of classroom activities, school camps (Years 5, 6, 7), excursions, school concerts, school musical and Student Council discos organised by teachers and parents.

I wish you happy surfing on our website and that you take the time to further explore our great school.

Yours Sincerely,

Chris Campanaris (Principal)
